Marie Bouzkova v Sara Sorribes Tormo Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the qualifiers of the 2018 Wimbledon and Tormo had won that one in straight sets.

In-Form Bouzkova Bosses Schmiedlova
It took Bouzkova all of an hour and 18 minutes to overcome Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in their quarterfinal, dropping six games across the straight-set win.
Despite Schmiedlova stretching Bouzkova a tad in the second set of her 6-2, 6-4 victory, she was rarely in the contest with the Czech facing just one break-point in the entire match and saving it. On the contrary, Bouzkova herself broke her Slovakian opponent on three of the four occasions she had a chance to do so and ran away with the match.
This win came on the back of victories against Irina Bara and Mihaela Buzarnescu in the first two rounds, stretching her recent record to eight wins and just one defeat. That loss came at the hands of Daria Kasatkina in the final of the Phillip Island Trophy but not before Bouzkova had over Jil Teichmann and Bianca Andreescu in the quarterfinal and semifinal respectively.
Earlier Bouzkova had fallen in the first round of the Australian Open but now looks good to not just win this match but also go on to win her maiden WTA title.

Tormo Faces First Stiff Challenge
Spain’s Tormo has won three rounds in the tournament and while making it to the semifinal of the tournament – her first since the WTA Bol of 2019 – makes for an excellent viewing, she would be the first to admit the opposition wasn’t the stiffest.
In fact, in all her three rounds, Tormo into the encounter as a pre-match favourite, defeating Greet Minnen, Leon Kung and Astra Sharma over the course of the tournaments.
Her last two matches have seen her drop three games in each of the four sets, but she was stretched to an hour and 24 minutes in her quarterfinal by the Aussie Sharma. Tormo raced to a 4-0 lead in the first set against Sharma, and while she was broken while serving for the set, she followed it up with another break to clinch it.
In the second, Tormo converted the first break-point she got, missed on one match-point off her opponent’s serve before carving out the victory on her own serve. Things, however, will be slightly different while facing Bouzkova.
Bouzkova v Tormo Prediction and Tip
It’s 1/2 for a Bouzkova and we reckon while it might not be very straightforward for the Czech 22-year-old, she should win this and move into the title-decider.
Tip: Bouzkova to win: 1/2 (bet365)
