Dominik Koepfer v Gerardo López Villaseñor Head to Head
The pair have never played before. This will be the first match between the 26-year-old German, and the Mexican, who is one year younger.

Koepfer, an All-Court German Player
Left-handed Koepfer in an all-court player who has won junior titles on all three surfaces, and, although he has yet to convert that to a tournament victory on the senior tour, he does have a one victory over a top ten player to his name, having beat Gael Monfils.
However, he has not enjoyed the brightest of starts to 2021. At the Australian Open he beat the Bolivian Hugo Dellien, but then he had the misfortune to be drawn against the world number three, Dominic Thiem, and was well-beaten in straight sets.
Turning his attention to the South American clay court wing, he suffered a first round loss in Cordoba, beaten by the local man Federico Coria.
And then, in Buenos Aires, after battling past another Argentine, Thiago Agustin Triante, his interest in the event was ended by the Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas, enduring another straight sets defeat.

López Villaseñor, the Mexican Wildcard
López Villaseñor will be an unfamiliar name to many tennis fans, because he spends his time on the ITF circuit, and this is a rare opportunity for him on the senior ATP tour.
However, he does represent Mexico in the Davis Cup, and last week appeared for them in their World Group tie with Bulgaria, beating his two singles’ opponents, Dimitar Kuzmanov, and Adrian Andreev, both of whom are ranked considerably higher in the world rankings.
Those wins though were rare recent successes for him on court, although injury has hampered his progress over the past 12 months.
The only time he got beyond the opening round of an ITF event was in Madrid last December, where he was beaten by the local man Alvaro López San Martin in the second round in straight sets.
Koepfer v López Villaseñor Prediction and Tip
This should be a straightforward win for the German against a man ranked nearly 500 places below him in the world. The only advantage the Mexican has going into this match is familiarity with local conditions.
Tip: Koepfer to win in straight sets: 2/5 (bet365)
