Andrey Rublev v Emil Ruusuvuori Head to Head
These two players, the world number eight Rublev and 87th-ranked Ruusuvuori have never played each other before this.

He was a semifinalist at the ATP Doha last week but Rublev did not win a single match in the entire tournament. This was because of an opening round bye which was followed by back to back withdrawals, first by Richard Gasquet and then from Marton Fucsovics, before he went crashing out in the semifinal against Roberto Bautista-Agut.
That campaign, however, shouldn’t define or deter Rublev’s form this season.
The Russian has already won two titles this year, including one team title in the ATP Cup where he won all four of his singles matches and the Rotterdam Open in which he crashed past Andy Murray and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the tournament.
Rublev, who had entered the season on the back of five ATP titles last season, will now look to continue that run as he kick-starts his campaign here with a second round match following an opening bye.

Ruusuvuori Hoping to Carry Lower Circuit Form
Ruusuvuori came into his own by the end of the 2019 season in which he won six titles at the lower level including four Challenger tournament wins. This was followed by a solid showing in 2020 as well despite the obvious issues with the pandemic for everyone on the tour.
The high point of the previous season came at the Nur-Sultan Open where Ruusuvuori went on to qualify for the event and then made it past Jordan Thompson and Mikhail Kukushkin to enter the semifinal stage.
This year, Ruusuvuori has managed to win the opening round matches at each of the four ATP tournaments he has been a part of but at the same time gone on to fall in round two. Even here in Dubai, Ruusuvuori overcame Victor Troicki in the qualifiers before defeating Thompson once again to enter the second round.
And unfortunately for Ruusuvuori, given his opponent’s pedigree and form, it does look like that sequence of events will continue.
Rublev v Ruusuvuori Prediction and Tip
Rublev is a a strong favourite here despite the result last week and should wrap this up in straight sets.
