Viktoria Kuzmova v Harriet Dart Head to Head
Kuzmova leads 2-0 head to head, having beaten the Briton in Antalya in a one-sided affair in 2016 and in a very close three-set battle at the Fed Cup qualifiers last year.

Kuzmova Hustles Past Dolehide
Slovakia’s Viktoria Kuzmova picked her first win of the season on Monday after the World No. 104 hustled past America’s Caroline Dolehide in the first round of the Monterrey Open.
Having not won a main draw match since losing the quarterfinal in Lyon last year, the 22-year-old finally ended the eight-match losing streak (in the main draws) with a 6-3, 6-1 win over the World No. 155.
Saving both the break points she faced in the match, Kuzmova converted four of six break opportunities to win the contest in an hour and six minutes.
The Slovakian right-hander, who won the Lyon Open doubles title with Arantxa Rus earlier this month, had come into the tournament with a 0-3 singles record in 2021.
Beginning the season at the Yarra Valley Classic, where she fell to Australia’s Daria Gavrilova, Kuzmova went on to make first-round exits at the Australian Open (going down to Aryna Sabalenka) and the Lyon Open (losing to Camila Giorgi).
Following a decent 2019, where she reached a number of quarterfinals along with the third round of the French Open, Kuzmova had a dismal 2020.
She did get a few wins before the break last year, which included a run to the last eight in Lyon, but ever since the resumption of tour, she had won just one tennis match, a qualifying round at the Western and Southern Open, losing nine in a row (including a qualifier and an ITF match) before the start of Monterrey Open.

Dart Stuns Watson
On Wednesday, Kuzmova will face World No. 153 Harriet Dart, who upset fifth seed Heather Watson in the opening round on Tuesday.
Playing as a lucky loser, Dart converted all four of her break point opportunities to beat the fellow Briton 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) in an hour and 39 minutes.
The 24-year-old, who reached the third round of Wimbledon in 2019, has struggled to qualify for main draw of events ever since the Australian Open last year, where she not only qualified for the main draw but also won her first round against Misaki Doi, before falling to Simona Halep.
She did taste some success at the ITF level though, reaching the final in France in October, finishing runner-up to top seed Kaia Kanepi.
This year, she failed to qualify for the Australian Open and Lyon Open, falling in the first round of qualifiers. She did win her first qualifier in Guadalajara last week, but lost to Astra Sharma in the next round. Sharma beat her in the first round of the main draw as well, after the Briton got an entry as a lucky loser.
In Monterrey, Dart defeated Sara Errani in the first round of qualification before going down to Colombia’s Maria Osorio Serrano. However, she once again made the main draw as a lucky loser, this time causing a major upset in the opening round.
Kuzmova v Dart Prediction and Tip
It’s a battle between two players struggling for consistency in singles. The Slovak will however hold a slight edge. She is yet to lose against the Briton and would look to stay perfect against her.
Tip: Kuzmova to win: 4/5 (bet365)
