Siniokova Hoping for Success in Singles Too
Although best known as a doubles player with her long-time partner Barbora Krejcikova, with whom she reached the finals in Melbourne last month, Siniakova has enjoyed success in singles as well, with four senior WTA titles to her name.
Miami though has not been a happy hunting ground for her -0 she has never been beyond the second round here.
So far, she has not enjoyed the best of fortunes in singles events this year, losing both her two matches in Melbourne, beaten in the Grampians Trophy by Angelique Kerber, and then by Fiona Ferro of France in the Australian Open.
She was forced to qualify for Doha and, although she did get through, was well beaten subsequently by Ons Jabeur.
Last week in St. Petersburg she overcame the Belgian Kirsten Flipkens, but then lost in the second-round to the Russian Margarita Gasparyan/

Konjuh On the Comeback Trail
Konjuh is on the comeback trail after a long injury layoff caused by three operations on her right elbow.
That brought a halt to her progress, after a junior career, that saw her win the girls’ singles at both the Australian and US Opens, becoming the number one ranked junior player.
Moving to the senior WTA tour, she won her first WTA event in Nottingham in 2015, reached the quarter-finals of the US Open in 2016, reaching a career high ranking of 20 in the world.
But then came the long hiatus, and she knows it is a long way back from here.
She failed to qualify for the Australian Open and, although she did battle her way through to the main draw in Dubai, she was then beaten by the American Amanda Anisimova in straight sets.
Most recently, she failed to progress out of the qualifying competition in St. Petersburg.
Siniokova v Konjuh Prediction and Tip
Although Konjuh won their previous match, that was before her long injury pay-off. This meeting probably comes too early in her comeback, so Siniokova will start the favourite.
Tip: Siniokova to win: 4/6 (bet365)
