This will be the first time that the 29-year-old Chinese will face the 23-year-old Spaniard.

Wang Struggling To Win Three-Setters
2019 Miami Open quarterfinalist Qiang Wang has not been in the best of forms in 2021. She is 2-7 so far this year and six of those defeats have come in matches that have gone the distance.
The World No. 38, who won two titles in 2018 and finished runners-up in two other tournaments the same year, began the 2021 season with three successive three-set defeats, falling to Russia’s Daria Kasatkina in Abu Dhabi, Italy’s Jasmine Paolini at the Gippsland Trophy and Italy’s Sara Errani at the Australian Open.
The 29-year-old right-hander finally got her first win of the season at the Phillip Isalnd Trophy, defeating Australia’s Madison Inglis in straight sets, but fell in the next round to Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu, also in three.
In Adelaide, she once again sailed past her first round opponent, Aussie wildcard Olivia Gadecki, but lost another three-set contest in the Round of 16, this time to Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann.
At the Qatar Open, America’s Jessica Pegula handed the Chinese her only straight sets defeat of the year in the opening round, while in Dubai, Wang made another first-round exit, losing to Russia’s Svetlana Kuznetsova in three.

Bolsova Qualifies for the Main Draw
Facing Wang in the first round will be Spanish qualifier Aliona Bolsova.
The Spaniard, who is 1-3 in main draws in 2021, defeated America’s CoCo Vandeweghe 6-2, 6-3 in the first qualifying round on Monday and Belgium’s Kirsetn Flipkens 6-4, 6-3 in the second qualifying round on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old right-hander, who reached the fourth round of the French Open in 2019, began the 2021 season with a 6-3, 6-0 win over India’s Ankita Raina in the first round of the Yarra Valley Classic. She was, however, beaten in the next round by Czech Republic’s Marie Bouzkova in a three-set contest.
The tough loss was followed by three more defeats as Bolsova went to down to Jennifer Brady in the first round of the Australian Open, Slovenia’s Kaja Juvan in the first round in Guadalajara and Slovakia’s Kristina Kucova in the first qualifying round in Monterrey.
The World No. 109 snapped her four-match losing streak in the qualifiers in Miami, but is still 0-3 from her last three main draw matches.
Wang v Bolsova Prediction and Tip
Bolsova will take a lot of confidence from her qualifying round wins. But she will have to punch above her weight to beat Wang. The Chinese player may have struggled to win matches this season, but most of her defeats have come in close contests. She will be a bit nervous, though, if the match goes to a third set.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (bet365)
