Bianca Andreescu v Garbine Muguruza

It’s not too much of a surprise to see Muguruza start off as a favourite against the former US Open champion Andreescu but we are slightly surprised with the perceived difference between the two players. Muguruza is 4/11 to win this while Andreescu starts off at 11/5, and that’s where one could have a chance.

Andreescu has come off two fighting performances in her previous two rounds; one ended in two sets but in the third round she defeated Amanda Anisimova in three sets, which included two tie-breakers.

On the other hand, Muguruza also showed signs of enduring some trouble against Anna Kalinskaya, a player ranked outside the top 100. She was down a set and then a break down in the final set but came through in the end thanks to her far greater experience.

What this means is we could see Andreescu put up a good fight and while Muguruza should still come through it wouldn’t be without the match seeing a deep couple of sets, or even a third. You could look at a less risky, over 20.5 games in the match or the higher returning, Muguruza win with over 19.5 games in it.

Ons Jabeur v Sara Sorribes Tormo

This is a match between the 30th-ranked Jabeur and 58-ranked Sorribes Tormo and one in which Jabeur starts off a heavy favourite at 8/13. On one hand that is expected from a player who is 28 places ahead of her opponent and has reached the fourth round here, so it’s not like her form has been an issue.

On the other hand, we believe Sorribes Tormo has shown the kind of spark in recent times which nullifies the Jabeur edge to a large extent.

The Spaniard comes into this match having not just won her maiden title at the Guadalajara Open, and with a semifinal appearance in Monterrey following that, she has been relentless in this tournament itself.

It started with a three-set win over Bernarda Pera in a match she started off as a favourite but what has followed has been something to watch. Sorribes Tormo then came back from a set behind to crush Jennifer Brady’s hopes (and Brady was 3/10 to win that match) before defeating Elena Rybakina (1/2 odds to win) in three sets again.

Expect her to take that same form into this match and go further into the tournament. A safer bet is the Spaniard to win a set (1/2 with bet365).

Milos Raonic v Ugo Humbert

Two top players, both with first round byes and making mincemeat of their second round opponents face off in this third round encounter. And while we could see short rallies and easy holds, Raonic’s big serving could stand him a good stead and help him take this match in straight sets.

Two less risky bets for this include a Raonic win (1/2 with bet365) or two sets in the match (4/9 with bet365), but if you are looking for something more rewarding, we would be going with a straight-set victory for Raonic.

Raonic v Humbert Betting Tip

Raonic to win in straight sets: 11/10* (Sign up here with bet365 for these and other awesome odds)
