Taylor Fritz v Aljaz Bedene Head to Head
Bedene won their only previous meeting at the Cincinatti Masters last year, winning the Round of 32 match 7-6 (7-5), 7-5.

World No. 30 Taylor Fritz began his Cagliari campaign with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) win against Slovakia’s Andrej Martin in the second round.
The second seed, who had a first-round bye, needed just an hour and 34 minutes to reach a second quarterfinal in 2021.
The American, who reached the semifinals in Qatar last month, improved to 10-5 in 2021 after the victory over Martin. Both players had eight break point chances in the match, with Basilashvili converting five, while his opponent converting three of them.
The 23-year-old Fritz, who has featured in five ATP finals, won his only title in Eastbourne in 2019. He reached the Round of 16 in Melbourne-2, Dubai and Miami this year and the Round of 32 at the Australian Open. His best performance came in Doha, where he defeated World No. 14 David Goffin and World No. 11 Denis Shapovalov en route to the semifinal, which he lost to eventual champion Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Bedene Downs Gerasimov
Facing Fritz in the quarterfinal will be Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene, who knocked out Belarus’ Egor Gerasimov 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) in the Round of 16.
The almost two-hour second-round contest saw Bedene covert three of eight break points while save one of three.
In the first round, the 31-year-old right-hander had to bounce back after losing the first set to defeat Italian wildcard Giulio Zeppieri 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) in two hours and 34 minutes.
Yet to win a title on the tour, the World No. 58 who has played in four finals, including two on clay, improved to 7-6 in 2021 after the Round of 16 win.
Bedene reached the Round of 16 in Adeliade, ,Montpellier and Dubai, while lost in the first round at the Australian Open and the second round in Miami.
Fritz v Bedene Prediction and Tip
Bedene is more experience on clay and is 57-52 in his career on the surface. Fritz on the other hand has delivered better results on hard courts and has played fewer matches on clay but is still 17-16 on dirt. So expect this to be a good contest. With the match going to the decider
