Adrian Mannarino v Federico Delbonis Head to Head
The pair have played once before in Auckland in 2015, Mannarino winning in straight sets for the loss of just two games.

Clay Not for Mannarino
Mannarino is not known as a clay court player – that is evidenced by the fact that all ten of his ATP career finals have either been on hard courts or grass, the surface on which he won his only senior title in Rosmalen two years ago.
This will be his sixth time in the main draw at Monte Carlo, and only one before has he gone beyond the first round here.
So far his best run in 2021 was at the Australian Open where he reached the third round before he was beaten by Alexander Zverev in straight sets.
A second round loss in Singapore, and two early defeats in Rotterdam and Acapulco followed, before he travelled to Miami, where he lost to another Argentine, Diego Schwartzman at the second round stage.

Delbonis, On the Other Hand…
Unlike Mannarino, Delbonis was brought up on clay and all four of his ATP finals, including both his victories, the Brazil Open in 2014, and the Grand Prix Hassan II, came on that surface. Despite that, he has never been further than the first round in Monte Carlo before.
Prior to this week, his best result in 2021 came in Santiago, where he reached the semi-final only to lose to compatriot Facundo Bagnis.
Since then, he lost in the first round in Miami, and at the second round stage of the Andalucía Open last week.
He had to come through two rounds of qualifying to make the main draw here, easing past Roberto Marcora of Italy, before being given a much sterner test by Pedro Martinez. The Spaniard took the firsts et but Delbonis rallied to claim the next two.
Mannarino v Delbonis Prediction and Tip
Although he is the lower ranked player, Delbonis is the clear favourite to win based on the surface. He is happy on clay whilst the Frenchman struggles on it.
Mannarino won their only previous encounter, but that counts for little because it was on a hard court.
Tip: Delbonis to win: 3/10 (bet365)
