Novak Djokovic v Jannik Sinner Head to Head
No previous matches have been played between Djokovic and the world number 22, Sinner before this second round match at the Monte-Carlo Masters this year.

The last time Djokovic stepped on to a clay court, he was given a pounding by Rafael Nadal in the final of the French Open last season.
That defeat, however, hides the progress the world number one had made on clay before that, having won the Rome Masters title in the lead-up to that competition in Paris and then the run-up to the final in Roland-Garros.
Not that the Serb’s form has fallen away this season either. Having started off the season at the ATP Cup, Djokovic won both his singles matches but his team fell short of making it to the semifinals.
Since then, Djokovic has played at just the Australian Open which we went on win, taming the likes of Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev in the tournament.
The question is if Djokovic can kick-start his clay court campaign strongly against a player whom he has himself tipped to become a number one at some stage of his career.

Sinner Sends Out Ramos-Vinolas
Sinner has been the form player and not surprisingly enough, has been tipped by the world number one Djokovic himself to be the next big name in the world of tennis.
The Italian, all of 19 years of age, recently made it to the final of the Miami Open, a Masters 1000 competition, in which he defeated Karen Khachanov, Alexander Bublik and Roberto Bautista Agut, before falling to Hubert Hurkacz in the title-decider.
And before that match, Sinner had won the title at the Great Ocean Road Open while making it as far as the quarterfinal at the Marseille. In the first round here, Sinner crushed the hopes of the in-form Spaniard, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, beating him 6-3, 6-4 to enter the second round.
Last year around, Sinner’s form on clay had improved with more time on it, reaching the second round in the Kitzbuhel Open, third round in Rome and quarterfinal at the French Open.
