Koepfer Made Semi-Finals in Acapulco
Koepfer was a surprise semi-finalist in Acapulco, with his run there including a win over Milos Raonic, before he was beaten by compatriot Alexander Zverev.
It was, therefore, disappointing to him to lose in the first round in Miami, going down to a surprise defeat at the hands of the French wildcard Hugo Gaston.
Back on European soil once more, he was obliged to enter the qualifying competition in Monte Carlo, successfully coming through two matches to take his place in the main draw, However, he was then beaten by the Italian clay court specialist Marco Cecchinato.
Last week he competed at the Barcelona Open, but lost in the first round again, beaten by Corentin Moutet of France. Can he now try and win his first match on clay for this season?

German Veteran Kohlschreiber in First ATP Tournament of 2021
Kohlschreiber is now in the veteran stage of a career that has seen him win eight singles and seven doubles titles, and was once ranked as high as 16 in the world.
That though was nine years ago, and the last final he appeared in was in 2018in home soil in Bavaria, where he lost to Alexander Zverev, the number one seed in Munich this week.
Six of his eight titles though came on clay, and it is very much his preferred surface.
This is only his second tournament of the year, having played in a Challenger event in Belgrade two weeks ago.
There he beat the American Maxime Cressy in the first round, but was beaten by the Bosnian Damir Dzumhur in the second, losing in straight sets.
Koepfer v Kohlschreiber Prediction and Tip
Koepfer has age on his size against a man who does not play very often on the main tour these days. Kohlschreiber is playing on his preferred surface, but Koepfer should be able to out-last him, particularly on the longer points.
Tip: Koepfer to win: 10/11 (bet365)
