Petra Kvitova v Marie Bouzkova Head to Head
Their only previous outing came in the second round of the 2020 Cincinnati Open and that fighting three-setter was won by Bouzkova.

Kvitova Looking to Build into Another Solid French Open Showing
Kvitova was a semifinalist at the 2020 French Open and she will hope to go as deep as she did last season at Roland-Garros.
For that, she will hope to bring into that tournament some more confidence than she is currently at, following her early ousters in Charleston and Stuttgart, the two clay court tournaments she has already played this season.
At the former, Kvitova was bounced out in the second match she played, losing to Danka Kovinic in straight sets. That was followed by a couple of wins at the Stuttgart Open against Jennifer Brady and Maria Sakkari only for the Czech to go down to Elina Svitolina.
Having already won a title this year in Doha, Kvitova will look to add a second in 2021. And she is well-versed with winning titles in Madrid, having done that thrice already in her career.

Bouzkova Clay Struggles Continue
Like Kvitova, Bouzkova has also featured in two tournaments on dirt this season – also at Charleston and Stuttgart – and won just one match. That came against a struggling Timea Babos, before she went down to Ajla Tomljanovic and Marketa Vondrousova in back to back encounters.
Clay has been Bouzkova’s Achilles Heel each year, and over the last four seasons, she has won just two matches in main draw of clay court events. Other than the win this year, her previous victory had come against Tomljanovic in Rome last year.
With a record as poor as that and coming up against a player who has done exceptionally on dirt, Bouzkova will be clutching at straws in this one.
Those straws come by the way of her performances at the Phillip Island Trophy (final) and the Guadalajara Open (semifinal) but given how she has gone in her last two tournaments, that might not help.
Kvitova v Bouzkova Prediction and Tip
While Bouzkova has beaten Kvitova in their only meeting, she will find it a lot tougher here on clay. Primed for a straight-set win for Kvitova.
Tip: Kvitova to win in straight sets: 4/7 (bet365)
