Jan-Lennard Struff v Aljaz Bedene Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2017 Miami Open with Struff winning 7-5, 4-0 when his opponent, Bedene retired from the match.

Struff Makes Maiden ATP Final
Despite been a former world number 29, Struff had never reached an ATP competition final before this season. It was on the clay court of Munich Open that he opened that account earlier this year.
Helped by the draw to an extent given Struff had to face none of the top three sets, he got past Filip Krajinovic and Ilya Ivashka in the quarterfinal and semifinal to seal his maiden title-decider berth. And while he lost to Nikoloz Basilashvili in the final, it was the kind of shot in the arm Struff would have needed after a modest start to the season.
Before his Munich foray, Struff had lost nine of the 16 matches he had played all season including a first round loss at the Monte-Carlo Masters. He followed that showing in Munich with an opening defeat in Madrid as well but that could be put down to exhaustion having had to play his opening round match just two days after the final appearance.
He has had his time off and will back himself to get a result in his favour here.

Bedene Makes it As a Lucky Loser
Bedene had to struggle to scrape past the 249th-ranked Gian Moroni in her first round of qualification but then fell to Hugo Dellien in the second round. But a late withdrawal of Casper Ruud from the competition allowed Bedene an entry to the main draw as a lucky loser.
Given his performance this season, Bedene does deserve this luck after all.
He had earlier made the quarterfinal at the Cagliari Open on clay and followed it up with a second round entry in Belgrade before losing to Aslan Karatsev.
And his solidity hasn’t been restricted to clay alone. Bedene had earlier stormed into the third round of the Great Ocean Road Open before repeating that showing at the ATP Dubai as well.
The switch to clay was a strong one and now that he has got this break, it remains to be seen if Bedene can find a way to overcome his much more pedigreed opponent.
Struff v Bedene Prediction and Tip
Bedene might be a lucky loser but bookmakers aren’t completing ruling him out as he starts off 6/4 to win this. A three-setter looks likely for us, which is also 6/4.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
