David Goffin v Federico Delbonis Head to Head
The pair have met once before, in the Davis Cup in 2015 playing for their respective countries, with Goffin winning in straight sets on a hard court.

Goffin, a Comfortable Winner over Italian Wildcard
Goffin did not come into Rome in the best of form, although he did reach the quarter-final in Monte Carlo, before suffering a s surprise defeat at the hands of the British number one Dan Evans. He then lost to another Brit, Cameron Norrie in Barcelona and decided to give Madrid a miss this year.
However, Goffin began his campaign in Rome with an ultimately comfortable win over the local wildcard, Salvatore Caruso, the world 81.
The first set was a catalogue of errors from both men, who elevated holding serve into an art form. However, after service breaks were passed back and forwards, Goffin finally had the chance to serve for the set, which he duly managed.
The Belgian took control of proceedings by breaking Caruso in the first game of the second set, and consolidated his advantage with a second break.
Serving to stay in the match, the pressure proved too much for the Italian and he fell to the second match point against him.
Goffin has three times been a quarter=finalist in Rome, and he will be hoping to make that four this year.

Qualifier Delbonis Produces First Round Surprise
Delbonis came into Rome in good heart after a solid run in Madrid, where he had come through the qualifying competition and reached the third round only to lose to Matteo Berrettini, the eventual finalist, in a tight match.
Despite that performance he was still made to qualify here, beating Marcos Giron of the USA, before his next match with Frances Tiafoe ended in unfortunate circumstances. Delbonis was leading by a break in the final set when the American had to retire with injury.
Nevertheless,. That earned him a place in the main draw against Karen Khachanov, the world ranked 24.
The Russian took the first set, breaking Delbonis twice, but the match swung on its head early in the second set, when Delbonis broke the Khachanov serve for the first time.
Suddenly, it was the Argentine asking all the questions, and the Russian struggling for answers,
Delbonis soon levelled and then swept through the final set without conceding a game, and with Khachanov’s resistance totally broken.
Goffin v Delbonis Prediction and Tip
Delbonis is in a good run of form just now, but Goffin if he can find his best level, should have too many options in court for the Argentine, and should win.
Tip: Goffin to win: 4/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
