Monteiro’s Not Seen Main Draw Win in a While
Since winning his opening round match at the Buenos Aires Open earlier this year, Monteiro has struggled to get going. In fact, it’s been nearly two and a half months since Monteiro won a main draw match having either failed to qualify for those or lost in openers of tournaments.
Defeats in the qualifying round in Monte-Carlo, Madrid and Rome prevented him from making it to the main draw, having gone into the first two of those matches as a favourite.
And then at Barcelona and Munich, Monteiro lost his openers to Jaume Munar and Nikoloz Basilashvili to undo some of the good work he had earlier done.
During that better phase of 2021, Monteiro had made the semifinal of the Great Ocean Road Open and quarterfinal in Cordoba he will now hope he can turn things around and get going here.

Djere Hits Rock-Bottom This Year
Much like Monteiro, Djere has faced a few issues this year too. Things looked to be going well for the Serb when he first reached the quarterfinal of the Buenos Aires Open and then marched into the final at Cagliari where he lost to Lorenzo Sonego.
Since then, in the second week of April however, Djere has won no match.
He has been a part of four tournaments, three of which he had a direct entry into the opening round and was drawn up against Karen Khachanov, Gianluca Mager and Pablo Carreno-Busta. Djere lost all.
And he lost in the qualifiers of the Madrid Masters as well.
The world 52 now faces a player who has himself been in a lot of rut and this could turn out to be an interesting battle as a result.
Monteiro v Djere Prediction and Tip
Djere is an obvious favourite here and we are backing him to shade the contest here despite his poor form.
