Mannarino 0-4 on Clay
As forgettable seasons go, Mannarino is having one of his worst in recent times and it’s only the tweaked ranking system that’s allowing him to retain a 36th rank on the charts. Because he has won just five of the 16 matches he’s featured in this year.
And coming to clay, the Frenchman has played four and won just one set. That came in the Italian Open last week against Hugo Dellien, a 128th-ranked Bolivian who had himself barely won anything all season.
Mannarino’s other losses, in the two Masters competitions in Monte-Carlo and Madrid and at the Barcelona Open have also all come in round one of those tournaments. Plus clay hasn’t been Mannarino’s best suit, with a career win-loss record of 14-46 on it.
As a result, Mannarino might be facing up to the challenge of a played ranked outside 500 in the world, but he still wouldn’t be an overwhelming favourite.

Cazaux in Main Draw Debut
A former junior Australian Open runnerup, the 18-year-old Cazaux will be playing his first ever match in the main draw of an ATP tournament and he takes on a fellow countryman in it.
Having never reached the final of a Challenger competition before this and with only one ITF Futures title – which came late last year on hard court – there sure will be a few question-marks against the chances of this wildcard entrant. And that’s despite his opponent’s horror run.
Cazauk has also played in the qualifiers of French Open, Madrid Open and Paris Masters but not gotten too far. In Madrid, he did send Sebastian Korda packing, which is his biggest result so far.
And now in his maiden main draw match, he would love to carve out a surprise win following on from a runnerup trophy under his belt more recently on the Futures circuit.
Mannarino v Cazaux Prediction and Tip
Interestingly Mannarino doesn’t start a favourite with bet365 offering 1/1 and we understand a part of the reason. But at some point one can expect him to start winning and if not against an ATP debutant, then against whom? Going for his victory here.
Tip: Mannarino to win: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
