Cilic Made Semi-Final in Estoril
Winner of the US Open in 2014, and a Wimbledon finalist three years later, Cilic has proved his credentials on clay by twice getting to the quarter-finals of the French Open.
A top three player three years ago, he has been drifting down the ranking after several years of indifferent performances, but there have been signs of a return to form recently.
He was a quarter-finalist in Miami before losing opt Andrey Rublev, and, although his season’s debut ion clay ended with a first round defeat in Monte Carlo, he did much better in Estoril.
There he reached the semi-finals before losing to Cameron Norrie of Great Britain.
Last week In Rome he defeated Alexander Bublik in three sets in the first round, before his run was ended by Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Sricker, a Teenage Wildcard Makes His Senior Debut
Stricker may only be 18 but he is already beginning to make a name for himself in the game. Last October he won the French Open boys’ single title and followed that up by winning the doubles in Paris as well, with his partner Flavio Cobolli.
Two months ago, he received a wildcard into the Challenger Tour event on home soil in Lugano, and defied all expectations by winning it, beating Vitaliy Sachko. That made him the third youngest Swiss player after Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka to win an ATP Challenger event.
This will be his debut in a senior ATP event. He has nothing to lose and can enjoy the exprience, knowing that nothing is really expected of him at this stage.
Cilic v Stricker Prediction and Tip
Cilic will start the heaviest of favourites against a man making his senior ATP debut. Anything other than a convincing win for the Croat would be a major surprise.
