Marton Fucsovics v Dominic Stricker Head to Head
Fucsovics and Stricker have never played each other before this in any form of competitive tennis.

Fucsovics Aiming for Successive Wins
Fucsovics entered the clay swing with some solid form under his belt on hard court surfaces but then proceeded to lose three of the first four matches he played on dirt. His only win before the start of this tournament had come in Rome against Yoshihito Nishioka.
Against the 150th-ranked Henri Laaksonen in his first round match, he was a favourite and while he came through in straight sets, Fucsovics would have loved to do a lot better. The Hungarian player needed nearly two hours to get past Laaksonen, winning 7-5, 7-5 in a match that had a whopping 10 breaks of serves in total.
Fucosvics dropped his serve in the very first game of the match but then retaliated with back to back breaks to take a 4-1 lead. Not to be outdone, Laaksonen broke back soon after and levelled things off at 4-4 before Fucsovics first missed a set-point on his opponent’s serve at 5-4 and then got through off the second at 6-5.
A string of four successive breaks between the sixth and the ninth games of the second set suggested a tie-breaker could be on its way. A longish hold following three break-points was followed by Fucsovics converting the first match-point he got in the 12th game of the set to complete the win.
He now faces another low-ranked player in his endeavour to get to the quarterfinals.

Stricker Makes Most of ATP Debut
Stricker won his first ever Challenger competition earlier this year when he came through at the Lugano Challenger in March. Since then he hasn’t played too much, losing early on the Futures circuit.
Which is why when he was drawn to take on Marin Cilic on his ATP debut, it seemed like Stricker would have his issues. A fight was expected, as you would from an 18-year-old but Cilic, at 1/5 to win this, was an overwhelming favourite by most people’s reckoning.
It didn’t quite turn up that way as Stricker shocked the Croat in straight sets, winning 7-6 (5), 6-1 to seal a place in the second round.
Nine aces and Roger Federer watching him from the stands surely helped him no end but coming up against Fucsovics he might not have that luxury given the latter’s defeat.
Fucsovics v Stricker Prediction and Tip
We expect Fucsovics to win but it wouldn’t be a straightforward one given his own struggles on clay this season. Which is why those odds of 5/2 for Stricker’s win can be played around, especially with the games handicap or even a set win for Stricker.
Tip: Stricker to win a set – Yes: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
