Richard Gasquet v Karen Khachanov Head to Head
The pair have never met before. This will be the first match between the 34-year old Frenchman, and the Russian, who is a decade younger.

Gasquet Knocks Out Schwartzman
Gasquet, the winner of two previous clay court titles, came into his home event in Lyon in indifferent form, although the start of his season was affected by the knee injury that forced him to pull out of the Australian Open on the eve of the tournament.
However, having failed to get beyond the second round of any event, he has now reached the quarter-final in Lyon.
His first-round match was a real struggle against compatriot Gregoire Barrere, with the qualifier winning the first set, before Gasquet regrouped and won the next two.
However, buoyed by the confidence that gave him, Gasquet produced a much better performance to knock-out the number three seed and world ranked tenth player, Diego Schwartzman on Thursday.
Gasquet took an early hold on the match, breaking Schwartzman in his opening service game, and building on that to take the first set.
The second set began with both men dropping their serve twice, but then Schwartzman dropped his own serve again and faced two match points in the next game. He not only managed to save then but broke back, but then surrendered his own serve up again. Gasquet then had two more match points and made no mistake with the second of them.

Khachanov Looking for Form Ahead of Paris
Khachanov is warming up for Paris where he has an excellent recent record, having been a quarter-finalist there in 2019, and three times reaching the fourth round, including last year.
A former Russian number one, he has had to watch as Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev and Aslan Karatsev all have overtaken him in the world rankings in the past 18 months.
He was pushed all the way in the first round in Lyon by the French wildcard, Benjamin Bonzi, the world 115, in a match that went to a third set tie-break, Bonzi having saved three match points along the way, before Khachanov finally saw him off.
That earned him a match against the Pole, Kamil Majchrzak, on Thursday.#, the world 120.
Khachanov was the first to drop his serve but he got the break back immediately and the set went to a tie-break which he then won.
He then broke Majchrzak early in the second set, and consolidated from there, offering up no opportunities to break back.
Gasquet v Khachanov Prediction and Tip
Both men showed improved form after being made to struggle in their first round matches. However, Khachanov will want to maintain his run as he looks to build momentum ahead of the French Open.
