Daniel Evans v Miomir Kecmanovic Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between the 31-year-old Briton and the 21-year-old Serb.

Evans Having A Good Clay Season
World No. 27 Daniel Evans is in the middle of the best season of his career so far and the Briton heads to Roland Garros with a 12-9 record in 2021.
So how has this season been different for him? He finally captured his maiden ATP title; reached a career-high ranking; defeated a World No. 1 for the first time and earned six wins on clay (6-5 so far) having won just four in his entire career before the start of 2021.
With so many things happening for him this year, Evans will be taking a lot of confidence into his fourth French Open, and hoping to end his winless run at the Paris major. On his Roland Garros debut in 2017, he was sent packing by Tommy Robredo; while in 2019, it was another Spaniard, Fernando Verdasco, who handed Evans a first-round defeat.
Last year, Evans was seeded 32nd in the tournament but failed to find a way past the first round yet again, falling to Kei Nishikori in five.
The 31-year-old right-hander, who reached the fourth round of the Australian Open in 2017, had made it to two ATP finals before 2021, but failed to win either of them losing in Sydney and at Delray Beach in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
He reached a third career final at the Murray River Open earlier this year and finally managed to capture his first title after beating Felix Auger Aliassime in the final.
The win also lifted him to a career-high ranking of 26. However, Evans’ 5-0 start was followed by a lull period as the Briton went 1-6 in his next six matches, facing defeats to Cam Norrie at the Australian Open, Roger Federer in Doha, Aslan Kartsev in Dubai, Frances Tiafoe in Miami and Lorezo Musetti in Cagliari.
But none of those defeats was served on a platter as Evans took Norrie to four and all the other opponents to the deciding third set before going down.
Evans finally regained form at Monte-Carlo, reaching his first Masters 1000 semifinal. He also clinched the biggest win of his career in the tournament, knocking out the top seed Novak Djokovic in the Round of 16. He was, however, denied a place in the final after a straight sets defeat to Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Briton also made a maiden appearance in the Round of 16 in Madrid.

Kecmanovic on a Four-Match Losing Streak
Facing Evans in the first round, will be World No. 48 Miomir Kecmanovic, who comes to Paris with a 9-12 record in 2021.
The 21-year-old Serb, who won his first ATP title in Kitzbuhel last year by beating Yannick Hanfmann in the final of the clay-court tournament, reached the semifinals in Buenos Aires earlier this year but couldn’t reach a third career final after falling to Diego Schwartzman in straight sets. Kecmanovic had reached the final four after beating Thiago Monteiro and Laslo Djere in the earlier rounds.
The Serbian right-hander also reached the quarterfinals at Melbourne-1 and Serbia Open, losing to Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic respectively.
A quarterfinalist at Indian Wells in 2019, Kecmanovic has never gone past the second round at a major. This will be his third French Open. He reached the second round on debut in 2019, but was outplayed by Schwartzman in the first round last year. He comes to Roland Garros on the back of four consecutive defeats, having not won since losing to Djokovic in the Serbian Open quarterfinal, which includes first-round exits in Madrid, Rome and Belgrade.
Daniel Evans v Miomir Kecmanovic Prediction and Tip
Evans has shown that he can win tough matches on clay. He has had a great year so far and would be hoping to get his first win at the French Open. Expect him to move into the next round and setup a second round clash with either Laslo Djere or Corentin Moutet.
