Ons Jabeur v Magda Linette Head to Head

Two previous matches have been played between these two players and both have won one apiece. Linette’s win came on the hard court surface of Baku in 2015 while Jabeur defeated her opponent on the clay of Charleston.

Jabeur Scythes Past Sharma

There was no stopping Jabeur who smashed her way past Australia’s Astra Sharma in her second round win, and will now be gunning to emulate her best ever performance at Roland Garros.

Jabeur needed a mere hour and six minutes to carve out a 6-2, 6-4 win against Sharma, while never looking like she was in trouble throughout the match.

The first set was a breeze for the Tunisian, who broke Sharma in the very first game and then again in the seventh before clinching it off the second set-point. The second set started in identical fashion and went along the same lines as Jabeur broke in the first and seventh games again.

The only difference this time was Sharma managed a break back as Jabeur tried to serve for the match but she clinched it the second time around and off her first match-point.

Jabeur had earlier rammed past Yulia Putintseva in straight sets in the first round.

Linette Benefits from Barty Retirement

It was very evident from the first round itself the world number one Ash Barty wasn’t in the best of shapes with her fitness. She had come through against Bernarda Pera in a hard-fought opening round win but struggled with her injury in her second round match against Linette.

And the Pole took full toll too.

After saving a break-point in the very first game she served, and then missing out on three on Barty’s serve, Linette went on a five-game winning streak that included two breaks of serves.

By the time they were in the second set, Barty managed to hold her serve twice but Linette kept coming strongly at her and four games into the set, the Aussie opted to retire from the match.

Linette faced just one break-point in the entire match which lasted 43 minutes and saved it. She had earlier sent Chloe Paquet packing in her opener in straight sets too.

Jabeur v Linette Prediction and Tip

It’s a match between two players who have never been to the fourth round at Roland-Garros. Jabeur holds the edge but Linette’s confidence would be soaring with her showing against the world number one, albeit an injured one. Expect a tight one going in Jabeur’s favour.

Tip: Jabeur to win AND Over 19.5 games in the match: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
