This is the first match between the two players on the WTA Tour.

Stephens Continues her Brilliant Run on Clay
Having spent the last couple of seasons struggling a lot with her form, the 28-year-old Sloane Stephens is finally on the verge of making a big comeback on the tour.
The former World No. 3 had a dull start to her 2021 season, having lost all of her first-round matches in the Australian Open Series and WTA Monterrey. The onset of the clay season, however, changed all of that for the American.
She reached the quarterfinal in WTA Charleston – her first such run since the 2019 French Open where she reached the same stage. Later, she made it to the second round in the Madrid Open and most recently, reached the semifinal in the WTA Parma.
Given that at one point, she was on track to become the #1 ranked player on the tour, these results are certainly not what you would expect from a player like Sloane Stephens. But then again, she is making great strides to reaching her former self.
In Paris, Stephens started with a three-set win over Carla Suarez Navarro. In the next round, she defeated the number 9 seed Karolina Pliskova 7-5, 6-1, and followed it with a similar straight-set win over Karolina Muchova.

Krejcikova Delivers a Tennis Masterclass to Svitolina
The 25-year-old Barbora Krejcikova has made it to the fourth round in the French Open for the second time in a row. And given the kind of season she has enjoyed so far, her chances of making it beyond are certainly appealing.
She won her maiden singles title in the Strasbourg Open before the Paris Slam. A few months back, she was the runner-up in the WTA 1000 event in Dubai. As a doubles player, Krejcikova’s accomplishments are far more impressive.
So far this season, she won the Gippsland Trophy and Madrid Open with Katerina Siniakova; the pair was also the runner-up in the women’s doubles in the Australian Open. Additionally, Krejcikova also won the mixed doubles in Melbourne with Rajeev Ram for the third successive season.
As for her form in Paris, she has been nothing but sensational. In the opener, she moved past Krystyna Pliskova and followed that with a straight-set win over Ekaterina Alexandrova.
In the third round, she delivered one of the biggest wins of her career by defeating the Ukrainian No. 1 Elina Svitolina. It was a clinical performance by Krejcikova, who outsmarted Svitolina with 6-3, 6-2.
Krejcikova v Stephens Prediction and Tip
Clearly, the Czech has got a lot of winning experience and can very well make life difficult for Stephens here. That said, French Open is familiar territory for Stephens having reached the final here a few seasons ago. But she lacks the form – something that a player of Krejcikova’s caliber can exploit to the fullest.
This will be an entertaining one.
