Diego Schwartzman v Jan-Lennard Struff Head to Head

The head to head tally is currently tied at 1-1. They last met in the 2019 Davis Cup Finals where Struff won in straight sets.

However, Schwartzman’s sole win over the German came in the Monte Carlo Masters – a clay tournament in 2017.

Schwartzman Yet to Drop a Set in Paris

World No. 10 Diego Schwartzman has navigated his way to the fourth round without dropping a single set in the tournament. In the third round, he overcame Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets with 6-4, 6-2, 6-1. In the preceding games, he routed the likes of Lu Yen-Hsun and Aljaz Bedene.

Last year’s French Open semifinalist, the Argentinean has always thrived wonderfully on the clay surface. He won the ATP Buenos Aires earlier this year and also reached the quarterfinal in the Barcelona Open. Plus, a majority of the finals he has reached on the ATP Tour have been on clay courts. On the ITF and Challenger circuit, all of his singles trophies and runner-up titles have been only in clay tournaments.

That said, he did lose all of his first-round matches in the Rome Masters, Madrid Masters, and the Lyon Open before the French Open.

However, Schwartzman has had his moments this season too. He reached the third round in the Australian Open and the fourth round in the Miami Open.

Struff Looking to Deliver his Best French Open Performance

The 31-year-old Jan-Lennard Struff started her journey in Paris with a five-set thriller against the seventh seed Andrey Rublev. Having delivered that upset, which also marked his first top 10 win of the season, the German has done well to build on that win.

He next defeated Facundo Bagnis and followed it with a straight-set win over the Spanish qualifier Carlos Alcaraz. In all of his appearances in the French Open since 2013, Struff has reached the fourth round only once – in the 2019 edition.

However, he has a decent chance of delivering his best run in Paris by reaching the next round, especially by the looks of his run on clay this season. Struff reached his first ATP singles final on the tour in the Bavarian Championships, where he fell in the final to Nikoloz Basilashvili.

He also reached the quarterfinal in the ATP Parma and ATP Cagliari.

Schwartzman v Struff Prediction and Tip

Schwartzman will start this game as the favourite to win but it won’t be an easy win. Struff is looking confident and has had a good run himself this season. He will most likely put up a good fight.

Tip: Schwartzman to win AND Both players to win a set: 8/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
