Daniil Medvedev v Stefanos Tsitsipas Head To Head
The players have met seven times with Medvedev leading the head-to-head 6-1. Tsitsipas’ only win came in the 2019 ATP Tour Finals in London.

Medvedev Surprising Himself & Others On Clay
After a successful end to 2020 and a strong start to 2021 Down Under, Daniil Medvedev had a bout of Covid-19 that kept him out of Monte Carlo and Barelona. He won his first match ever at Madrid only to lose in the next round and to lose the opener in Rome.
Coming to Roland Garros in search for a first ever clay win, Medvedev was up against Alexander Bublik and surprised all with a straight sets win. The run continued as he came back from a set down to defeat American Tommy Paul in a slower night match in the second round.
Playing big serving American Reilly Opelka, there was no stopping the Russian as he won 6-4,6-2,6-4 and one expected a stern challenge from clay court specialist Cristain Garin in the round of 16.
Medvedev ran away with the first two sets 6-2,6-1 against Garin and when the Chilean broke early in the third with Medvedev getting some elbow treatment, one thought we were in for a tussle finally. But, the number two seed came back strong and continued the shot making to clinch the match 7-5 in the third.
All of a sudden, from the dislike for clay, Medvedev is in the final eight at Roland Garros with every reason to believe that he can go further.

Tsitsipas Hoping to Improve Medvedev Record
22-year-old Stefanos Tsitipas has had a strong season thus far. Starting the year with consecutive wins at the ATP Cup and a semi-final showing at the Aussie Open (defeating Rafa Nadal en route), Tsitsipas continued his strong run despite missing out on titles, notably at the ATP 500 final at Acupulco against Alexander Zverev.
The Greek’s strong run continued on clay where he won his first ever Masters 1000 at Monte Carlo as well as winning the ATP 250 in Lyon and being one point away from clinching the Barcelona ATP 500 final against Rafael Nadal.
Tsitsipas came to the French Open as third in line among favorites for the title behind Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic and has so far looked on course for a deep run.
Tsitsipas started well after a challenging opening first set against Jeremy Chardy and continued the run in his second round against Spaniard Pedro Martinez.
Up against big serving American John Isner in the third round, it was never going to be easy and when Isner took the first set serving big, one wondered if the Greek was in for a troublesome encounter. Tsitsipas came back strong to prevail in a four-setter, however.
Playing Spanish veteran Pablo Carreno Busta in the round of 16, Tsitsipas started strong winning the first two sets 6-3,6-2. The Spaniard broke early in the third to go up 2-0, but there was no stopping the number five seed who broke back soon to equalize and then upped his level at 5-5, to close the match 7-5.
Another major quarter-final for Tsitsipas who will really believe he can make a very deep run here in the second week.
Medvedev v Tsitsipas Prediction and Tip
This is a head-to-head that is heavily tilted in favor of Medvedev, but the story maybe different on the Roland Garros clay.
Medvedev, not a natural on the clay, but has seemed to be defying all odds and in his first final eight at the French Open. Tsitsipas on the other hand has looked strong all clay season and will be favored here given form and surface.
A tighter match ahead then many of us may think; Tsitsipas to prevail in four tight sets.
Tip: Tsitsipas to win in four sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
