John Millman v Peter Gojowczyk Head to Head
The pair have met twice before, Millman winning both matches, although both went to three sets. The Australian won on the outdoor hard courts of Shanghai in 2012, and on the indoor carpets of Kyoto a year later.

Has Millman Recovered From His Back Injury?
Millman finally ended his long wait for a senior ATP title at the one of the last events of 2020, the Astana Open, in Nur-Sultan.
However, rather than inspire him to go on to better things, it had the opposite effect, and he lost in the first round of the first five events he entered in 2021.
The switch to clay brought about a slight upturn in fortunes, and he reached the second round in Monte Carlo, and Belgrade and then the third round in Munich.
He then got to the second round in Madrid and Paris, but, bizarrely, pulled out of his French Open first round match with Gianluca Mager of Italy with literally minutes to go, having tweaked his back during the warm-up.
Ironically, the man who replaced him at the last minute as a lucky loser was Gojowczyk, who promptly lost in four sets.
Millman’s record in grass is not impressive, and he has made the third round at Wimbledon just once.

German Qualifier Gojowczyk Hoping to Go Deep
Now 31, Gojowczyk won his solitary ATP title at the Moselle Open in 2017, although he has been in two subsequent finals at Delray Beach and Geneva in 2018, losing them both.
At that time, he was ranked inside the top 40 in the world, but several years of indifferent performances has seen his standing drop.
His record on grass is poor, he has only qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon three times, and only once won a match at the All-England club.
Having lost in the first round of the French Open, he was made to come through two rounds of qualifying just to get to this stage.
First, he beat the Ukrainian world 210 Sergiy Satkhovsky in straight sets on Monday, and followed that up with another straight sets win on Tuesday, this time over the Frenchman, Gregoire Barrère.
Millman v Gojowczyk Prediction and Tip
Millman has won both their previous encounters and should win this match as well, provided that he is fully recovered from the back problems he encountered in Paris.
