Alexander Bublik v Jeremy Chardy Head to Head
Both of their previous matches have come in 2021 itself and both players have won one apiece.
Bublik was a three-set winner at the Antalya Open in January, making it to the final where he had to withdraw from the match because of fitness issues. Chardy levelled things off in Monte-Carlo in the opening round.

Bublik Hits a Recent Rut
Since making it to the quarter in Madrid, Bublik has hit bit of a losing streak, going down in three matches in a row. Losses to Casper Ruud and Daniil Medvedev were on expected lines but a loss at Rome to Marin Cilic might have been a surprise.
That aside though, Bublik has managed to do rather well this season. As mentioned earlier, he had started off the year with a final appearance at the Antalya Open and then doubled that count in Singapore where he lost to Alexei Poyrin.
In doing so, the Kazakh has now made it through to four finals of ATP events and while he is yet to win one, his form looks like that should just be around the corner.
At the Miami Masters later in the season, Bublik made it to the quarterfinal which was his first at a Masters 1000 event. And he then made it to the last stage of the Madrid Open as well.
Can he now kick-start his grass swing with a convincing win over a player who didn’t have a good start on this surface last week?

Chardy 1-5 in Last Six
After a solid start to 2021 on both outdoor and indoor hard courts, Chardy’s form hit a rough patch when he managed to win just one of his last six matches coming into this one.
While most of those losses came on clay, his most recent one on the grass court of Stuttgart might not have gone down too well.
After all, Chardy had started off a 2/5 favourite in that one against Yannick Hanfmann but still lost 6-4, 6-4 to the German.
Chardy has had a long and reasonably distinguished tennis career in which he has won one title but more vitally also made the final of a tournament on grass in Rosmalen. That was in 2018 and it was the last time the Frenchman made it that far in any tournament.
Since 2014, he has won just two matches at Wimbledon though and his preference for grass has reduced.
Bublik v Chardy Prediction and Tip
While we will back Bublik here, it needs to be seen whether he can make that switch to grass quickly enough. Backing Chardy to make life difficult for his opponent.
