Alex de Minaur v Laslo Djere Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came in the first round of the 2019 Paris Masters. De Minaur managed a straight-set win over his opponent in that one

De Minaur Stunned in Stuttgart
After a hard-fought first round win over Jordan Thompson, De Minaur was pitted against Jurij Rodionov in his second in Stuttgart last week. He had gone into that encounter at 9/50 odds to take his opponent down but instead fell to a three-set defeat.
In fact, de Minaur was a set up but then a change in momentum in the second when Rodionov broke him and didn’t allow him a return back proved to be the turning point. That break of serve in the second game of the second set also turned out to be the last break of serve in the match as Rodionov pushed it into a third and took it home in a tie-breaker.
Interestingly, de Minaur had kick-started the season with a title win at Antalya but hasn’t gone beyond winning two matches in a row since then.
He shouldn’t have a lot of difficulties in this opener but he does have a couple of possibly tough encounters in the future here.

Djere’s Won Just One Match on Grass
And that’s in his career we are talking about.
It came in 2019 where Djere managed to get past the little-known and qualifier Guido Andreozzi in his opener at Wimbledon but then lost in straight sets to John Millman.
Before that a qualifying defeat in 2017 and a first round loss in 2018 at Wimbledon were his only appearances on grass.
It’s not just grass which is an issue for the Serb though, with Djere having had his struggles on hard courts too. It was only later on clay did he show some signs of his tennis still being alive, when he stormed into the finals of the Cagliari Open and won a couple of rounds apiece in Geneva and Roland-Garros.
Will that do him much good for grass? Doubtful. But he does go up against a player who didn’t adjust too well to the surface last week.
De Minaur v Djere Prediction and Tip
This should be a straightforward win for de Minaur who has had some practice on grass already in Stuttgart. Backing a straight-set victory for the Aussie.
Tip: De Minaur to win in straight sets: 4/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
