Cilic on a High after Stuttgart Title
Cilic’s form over the last of couple of seasons has seen bit of a dip and that had shown in his lack of titles since 2018. That was the season he had won the Queen’s title, having also made it to the final of this very tournament in 2017.
Which is why some of his performances this season would have given him some more confidence. A semifinal in Singapore, a fourth round in Miami and even on clay when he reached the semifinal at the Estoril Open.
None of this, however, would come close to what transpired last week, when Cilic came into the grass courts of Stuttgart Open and went on to win the title without dropping a set. Included in his list of victims were Nikoloz Basilashvili, Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
He now enters a competition in which he has done well in the past and does that on the back of his first title win on grass in three years.

Ofner Qualifies for Second Grass Tournament
While he has played on the Challenger circuit before this, and made a few attempts to make it to the main draw of ATP competitions, this will only be the second time Ofner has made it past the qualifiers in a grass tournament.
The first time he did that was way back in 2017 and Ofner went one better. Or three better in fact, as he reached the third round of that tournament before losing to Alexander Zverev.
This year, Ofner has been a permanent fixture in Challenger tournaments.
After making a slow start to it, he reached the final of the Nur-Sultan Challenger and followed that up with a couple of quarterfinals on the Challenger tour.
Coming into the grass court competitions, Ofner entered the second round of the Nottingham Challenger last week before qualifying for this tournament.
Ofner’s only hope will be for Cilic to be very exhausted from his performance last week but even that would need him to up the ante drastically to have a chance.
Cilic v Ofner Prediction and Tip
While Cilic will be coming off an exhausting week following his title win in Stuttgart, he shouldn’t have too many worries in this opener. Expecting him to come through in straight sets against Ofner.
Tip: Cilic to win in straight sets: 1/3 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
