Karen Khachanov v Feliciano Lopez Head to Head
There have been three previous matches between these two players and Khachanov leads 3-0 on head to head. Two of those matches came in hard court tournaments where their third and last meeting was at the 2019 Wimbledon where Khachanov won in four.

It was a first round match that could have gone either way but in the end it was Khachanov who edged past Lucas Pouille in a tough three-setter to seal his round of 16 berth.
Khachanov had to save two break-points to force the first set into a tie-breaker and then staved off a set-point before clinching the set off his own second set-point.
Pouille wasn’t done though as Khachanov’s inability to break his serve meant the Frenchman grew in confidence and when he finally broke his 29th opponent there was no turning back. Serving at 3-5 to stay in the set, Khachanov was broken yet again as Pouille brought himself an equaliser.
Fortunately for Khachanov, his first break of serve for the match came in the first game of the final set and from there on it was one-way traffic. The Russian lost just four points on his own serve to close out the encounter 7-6 (7), 3-6, 6-4.
This win comes on the heels of an opening round defeat at the Halle Open last week where he had fallen to Andrey Rublev. Can he now improve his record against Lopez?

Lopez Makes Third Successive Second Round
While this hasn’t quite been a season to remember for Lopez, he would be feeling a lot more confident after switching over to grass as he reached the second round of a tournament for the third successive time.
An opening round win here follows victories at the Queen’s Club competition and the Mallorca Open before he lost in the second round there.
Here, it was a straight-set win over Spanish 21-year-old Nicola Kuhn, as Lopez usurped his opponent 6-1, 7-6 (4) in an hour and 21 minutes.
Lopez lost his serve only once in the entire match, as Kuhn broke back to level things out to 3-3 in the second set but once it was pushed into a tie-breaker, the veteran’s experience shone through. He won four of the last five points to seal his advance.

While Lopez has played a few matches on grass this season it might not be enough to take down Khachanov, who starts off a favourite to win this.
