Marco Cecchinato v Liam Broady Head to Head
Cecchinato and Broady have never played each other before this in a competitive match.

Cecchinato’s Won Two Career Matches on Grass
One look at his record and you know that Cecchinato is a clay-courter through and through. Take the example of this year itself, where Cecchinato has played a total of 34 matches including a few qualifying rounds and just three of them have come outside of clay.
And he lost all those three.
On clay, he has won a few qualifiers – seven in total – and lost one to make the main draws of tournament but his overall record for the season in actual tournaments hasn’t been extraordinary.
And lesser said the better about Cecchinato’s foray on grass.
He comes into this tournament on a four-match losing streak which involves opening round defeats at the last editions of Wimbledon and there was another first round loss in the season before that.
In that period though, Cecchinato did win a couple of rounds on Eastbourne 2018 but those have been his only two wins on this surface.
Can he get his third?

Broady Comes in with Some Grass Practice
Unlike Cecchinato, Broady’s experience on grass has been better despite having never been ranked in the top 130.
The Briton made the second round at Nottingham Challenger, lost in the first round at Queen’s and then won a round at Eastbourne when he stunned Frances Tiafoe in his opener. Broady lost in the second round to the eventual winner Alex de Minaur.
Interestingly, Broady has had a match win at Wimbledon in the past – it has been his only Grand Slam singles victory and it came in 2015. Two first round losses and a couple of qualification ousters have followed that soon after at Wimbledon.
Broady will relish this challenge though. He would believe he has bit of a chance unlike playing another opponent who isn’t so out of sorts on grass. And that would mean he could dream of just his second main draw Grand Slam victory in this one.
Cecchinato v Broady Prediction and Tip
It comes as no big surprise that despite Cecchinato been 60 places ahead of his opponent, it’s Broady who starts off as a favourite in this opener at Wimbledon. Backing him to take Cecchinato down.
Tip: Broady to win: 4/9 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
