Felix Auger-Aliassime v Thiago Monteiro Head to Head
Auger-Aliassime won their only meeting at the U.S. Open last year.

Auger-Aliassime In Solid Form
After a disappointing clay season, World No. 19 Felix Auger-Aliassime has found his form back on grass and he comes to Wimbledon with a 6-2 record from two grass court tournaments this year.
The 20-year-old Canadian reached an eighth career final in Stuttgart two weeks ago, but remained title-less after going down to Marin Cilic in straight sets. Yet to win a set in a final, Auger-Aliassime came close to a ninth final, when he reached the semifinal at Halle last week, defeating Roger Federer in the Round of 16, but he couldn’t find a way past eventual champion Ugo Humbert, going down in a thrilling three-setter.
This is the second time that Auger-Aliassime will be playing at Wimbledon. He reached the third round on his debut in 2019, defeating Vasek Pospisil and Corentin Moutet in the first two rounds but went down to Humbert in the third round.
Auger-Aliassime is 20-13 this year, having also reached the final at Melbourne-2 earlier, going down to Dan Evans.
The Canadian, who reached the fourth round of the U.S. Open last year, also reached the Round of 16 for the first time at the Australian Open this year, but he remains winless at the French Open, losing in the first round for the second consecutive year.

Monteiro Hasn’t Played Much on Grass
Facing Auger-Aliassime in the first round will be Brazilian left-hander Thiago Monteiro, who is 11-10 this year and has featured in a semifinal and a quarterfinal.
The Brazilian, ranked 81st in the world, is a solid clay court player but hasn’t tasted much success outside his preferred surface. He still reached the semifinals at Melbourne-1 earlier this year, winning four matches in a row and defeating Jordan Thompson in the quarterfinal, however his run came to an end after a defeat to Stefano Travaglia.
Yet to play in an ATP final, the 27-year-old also reached the quarterfinals at Cordoba, defeating Joao Menezes and Roberto Carballes Baena, but lost to Juan Manuel Cerundolo.
He hasn’t played since the French Open, where he reached the second round by beating Francisco Cerundolo but lost to Steve Johnson in a dramatic five-setter.
This is his third main draw appearance at Wimbledon. He reached the second round in 2017 but lost in the first round in 2019.
Auger-Aliassime v Monteiro Prediction and Tip
Auger-Aliassme has looked in good touch over the last couple of weeks and will carry that momentum to Wimbledon. Expect the Canadian to win this in straight sets and ease into the next round where he could be facing either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Mikael Ymer.
Tip: Auger-Aliassime to win in straight sets: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
