Teichmann’s Poor Grand Slam Record
Teichmann has appeared at Wimbledon once before, in 2019 when she was beaten in the first round. In fact, the only time she has won a Grand Slam match came the previous year at the US Open.
The Swiss left-hander has won two WTA titles, both ion clay, the Prague Open and the Palermo International, both in 2019.
However, she has also proven her ability on hard courts by reaching the fianl of the Top Seed Open last August before losing to Jennifer Bardy, and by her performances earlier this year.
Although she lost in the first round of the Australian Open, she reached the quarter-finals of the subsequent event, the Phillip Island Trophy, and again in Adelaide. She then went one better in Dubai, where her semi-final there was her best ever showing in a Premier event. With Petra Kvitova, Ons Jabeur and Coco Gauff among her victims.
However, since playing in a clay court event in Strasbourg, she has not played at all. She missed the French Open and did not play in any of the grass court warm-up events.

Giorgi’s Achieved Some Decent Wimbledon Results
Although primarily regarded as a clay court player, Giorgi has a decent Wimbledon record.
In 2018, she reached the quarter-finals, her best result to date in a Grand Slam, before eventually losing to Serena Williams, She also made the fourth round six years earlier, and has three third round appearances to her name.
Since losing in the second round of the French Open to Varvara Gracheva of Russia, the Italian has been spending a lot of time on grass courts.
She reached the second round in Birmingham, and then came through two rounds of qualifying to make the main draw in Eastbourne.
There she enjoyed one of the biggest wins of her career by beating the top seed and world number four Aryna Sabalenka in the quarter-finals, before she was forced to retire from her semi-fianl with Anett Kontaveit of Estonia, with a slight injury niggle.
