It’s been more than three years since Kuznetsova won a match on grass. Her last victory, which came in the first round of Eastbourne Open in 2018, was followed by a 6-1, 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Elise Mertens in the second and an opening round loss at Wimbledon against Barbora Strycova.

What’s interesting to note here is Kuznetsova has a decent overall win percentage on grass – it stands at 62% – and while it doesn’t match up to her performances on clay or hard court, it is still not too far away from 66.9% and 64.7% respectively.
Which is why despite all her issues on grass in recent times, Kuznetsova just needs to get back some of her rhythm on this surface and we could even seen a deep run here at Wimbledon.

Pattinama Kerkhove Hoping for Late Resurgence
She is 29 years old but Kerkhove Lesley’s focus has been on the ITF circuit through most part of her career. This can be seen from the fact she is currently 174th in the world with a career-best ranking of 149th.
Unsurprisingly, Kerkhove Lesley has won a mere five WTA main draw matches in the entirety of her career, of which one has come on grass. That win happened recently, as the qualifier Kerkhove Lesley overcame Maddison Inglis to move to the second round at Nottingham.
Interestingly, a couple of weeks later, Kerkhove Lesley was faced with Inglis again – this time in the second qualifying round at Wimbledon – and she defeated her yet again, before needing a 9-7 scoreline in the final set to shock odds on favourite Jule Niemeier to enter the main draw.
