Garbine Muguruza v Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and Muguruza had come through in straight sets against Pattinama Kerkhove. Incidentally that match was played on a grass court too, at Hertogenbosch in 2014.

Muguruza Makes a Telling Statement
There had been injury concerns for Muguruza coming into this competition, but her performance in the opener showed fans need not be worried.
Muguruza was at her demolishing best as she got the better of Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro 6-0, 6-1 to storm into the second round, needing a mere 51 minutes to achieve the win.
Interestingly, Muguruza had a chance to complete a double-bagel in the encounter but as she served at 5-0 in the second set, she faced her only break-point of the match and was broken. In turn, the Spaniard broke back to finish off the encounter with seven breaks of serves in the match.
Earlier, Muguruza had made it to the quarterfinal at the only grass court competition she played in Berlin, having returned from a first round drubbing at French Open. This is the kind of start she needed to return to her solid ways from earlier in this season when Muguruza reached three WTA tournament finals.

Pattinama Kerkhove Stunner for Kuznetsova
The 29-years-ol Kerkhove had come into the tournament with just five match wins in her WTA career and typically played on ITF circuit. With just one previous win on grass, it didn’t look like she was expected to do a lot more than make up the numbers in her opener against Svetlana Kuznetsova.
As it turned out, Pattinama Kerkhove wasn’t there to only get rolled over. She didn’t just compete but also surprised an unusually lacklustre Kuznetsova in straight sets and in an hour and six minutes.
Kerkhove won 6-3, 6-3, taking advantage of a poor first serve percentage of 49% from her opponent as she also out-did her opponent on both, the winners (15-13) and the unforced count (17-19).
She now takes on a far tougher opponent than Kuznetsova and one who has just demolished her opening round opponent.
Muguruza v Pattinama Kerkhove Prediction and Tip
That Muguruza starts off 1/10 to win this isn’t much of a surprise and we reckon this will be another easy job for her. Straight sets and less than 19 games in it.
Tip: Muguruza to win AND Under 18.5 games in the match: 5/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
