Karolina Muchova v Camila Giorgi Head to Head
Muchova and Giorgi have never played each other in a competitive match before this Wimbledon encounter.

While Muchova hadn’t the best of starts to the grass swing with a three-set defeat in her opening round match at German Open, she looked to have put all of that behind her in the first round here.
Muchova came through her opening test against Shuai Zhang easily in the end, winning 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and seven minutes to seal her second round spot.
The match began with Muchova earning herself a break of serve in the very first game and that was all she needed, although she did break Zhang yet again in the ninth game.
And while Zhang retaliated with a break first up, Muchova clawed back into the set with a break back in the fourth game and then another one in the sixth to take full control of the encounter.
In the end, the Australian Open semifinalist did not face too much trouble and finished off the encounter. She now takes on an in-form Giorgi.

Giorgi Grows on Grass
Grass has been Giorgi’s favourite surface and Wimbledon her favourite Grand Slam. Especially as far as her results are concerned.
And the 2018 Wimbledon quarterfinalist shone yet again on it as she thrashed Jil Teichmann in her opening round encounter to make it through to the second in a mere hour and six minutes.
Giorgi completed a 6-2, 6-2 victory with two breaks of serves in each of the two sets, while she saved the three break-points she faced in the entire match easily. And the difference in the two players couldn’t have been starker, what with Giorgi ending with 21 winners and 11 unforced and Teichmann quite the opposite at 10 and 20 respectively.
It now remains to be seen if the Eastbourne International semifinalist can tame Muchova in this match as well, having beaten Karolina Pliskova, Shelby Rogers and Aryna Sabalenka in that tournament just last week.

Interesting one which would have Muchova as a favourite on any other surface and in any other form but Giorgi’s preference for grass and her solid form make her our pick.
