Sam Querrey v James Duckworth Head to Head
Querrey and Duckworth met most recently at the start of the 2021 grass-court season in Stuttgart – their only meeting before this. The American won in two tight sets.

Querrey Rekindles Wimbledon Love Affair
There is a mystique at the manner in which Sam Querrey has rekindled his love affair with Wimbledon, and grass for that matter.
At the start of the brief grass-court season, Querrey had looked far from the player who had been ranked as high as World No. 11. He was low in confidence and his best tennis deserted him. The American had lost in four of his first six tournament participations.
But once he set foot on the lawns, Querrey has looked like a different animal altogether. His latest win on the surface came at the scene of his most successful Grand Slam. Querrey authored the upset over the 11th-seeded Pablo Carreno Busta, but in truth, this was widely expected.
Querrey has a fantastic record at Wimbledon. He has made the last eight or better in three of the last four editions at the event. He is also among a handful of players to have won over 50 matches on the surface.
The first set was extremely tight, Querrey eventually won it in a tiebreak which he trailed 1-5 at one point, and saved a set point. Carreno Busta never quite recovered from that collapse. He only managed to break Querrey’s serve once in the entire match.

Duckworth Records Rare Wimbledon Win
James Duckworth joined fellow Australian Nick Kyrgios in the next round of the Wimbledon Championships after winning his second match at the event – six years on from his first in 2015.
Duckworth beat Moldova’s finest Radu Albot in straight sets by a score 6-4 6-4 6-1, breaking serve six times in a one-sided encounter. In contrast, Albot created 12 opportunities of his own, but only managed to convert two of them as his baseline game left a lot to be desired.
Duckworth will need a significant level of improvement in his service games which could earn him cheap points that could come in handy, considering Querrey is unlikely to give away any breaks.
The Australian has never scaled the second-round barrier at a Major in 24 previous attempts. Can he produce the upset and put a stop to this dismal streak?
Querrey v Duckworth Prediction and Tip
With one of the most destructive serves in tennis history, it is no surprise that Querrey has at times looked invincible on grass. Even against the versatile Carreno Busta, Querrey posted some frightening numbers. He won 90% of first-serve points and fired 61 winners. The American looks a solid bet to make the third round.
