Victoria Azarenka v Sorana Cirstea Head to Head
Azarenka holds a 3-0 lead over Cirstea, two of which came right here at Wimbledon. Their last meeting, however, took place in 2009, making this upcoming encounter their first one in over a decade.

Business as Usual for Azarenka
Number 12 seed Victoria Azarenka kickstarted her Wimbledon campaign with a clinical win over Kateryna Kozlova. The experienced Belarusian won the match 6-1, 6-3, to reach the second round.
Azarenka’s run on grass courts of late has been quite decent, comprising a semifinal run in the Bett1Open in Berlin and a quarterfinal stint in Bad Homburg (from which she withdrew).
Following a breakthrough season last year when she reached the final at the Cincinnati Open, US Open, and Ostrava Open, Azarenka has done a brilliant job of retaining that momentum and building on those positive performances. So far this season, the 31-year-old reached the semifinal at the Qatar Total Open and the fourth round in Miami Open and French Open.
Across these tournaments, Azarenka defeated some promising players like Madison Keys, Angelique Kerber, Elina Svitolina, and Svetlana Kuznetsova. Even though she is still a bit behind in reclaiming her former glory, she is more than capable of moving past the likes of Cirstea and others.

Cirstea Finally Wins on Grass
31-year-old Sorana Cirstea arrived in Wimbledon on the back of consecutive, first-round exits in the WTA Berlin and Bad Homburg. In her defence, she was handed relatively tricky fixtures against players like Garbine Muguruza and Andrea Petkovic.
In London, however, she had an easy first-round game against the local Samantha Murray. Cirstea needed just an hour and 20 minutes to beat the #230-ranked player with 6-3, 6-3.
Even though her grass swing up until now has been rather uneventful, the Romanian has already made up for it with a scintillating run on the clay courts. She won her first singles title since October 2008 this year.
That long wait finally came to an end at the Istanbul Cup where she defeated Elise Mertens in the final. A few weeks later, she reached the final of the Strasbourg Open, losing to Barbora Krejcikova. And to cap her clay season, she reached the fourth round in the French Open as well.
Azarenka v Cirstea Prediction and Tip
Azarenka will start this match as the favourite and should not face any major difficulties in reaching the third round, especially given her opponents’ recent track record on the surface.
