Daniil Medvedev v Marin Cilic Head to Head
The players have only met once on the outdoor hard courts in Washington DC at the Citi Open, which was won by Medvedev in straight sets.

Medvedev Clinical In Second Round
A disappointing first round loss at the ATP 500 in Halle against Jan-Lennard Struff marked the start of the grass swing for Medvedev, and thus the Russian decided to play in Mallorca the week before Wimbledon.
It was a fruitful visit for the Russian to Mallorca as he not only had some useful grass court match practice, but also won the title and beat players with different styles ranging from Casper Ruud to Pablo Carreno Busta to Sam Querrey en route.
As a result, Medvedev came to Wimbledon confident hoping for a good run and ran into Jan-Lennard Struff again in the opener, but put up a strong performance and despite a fight from the German, the number two seed prevailed in four sets.
Moving onto the second round, he was up against rising Spaniard teenager Carlos Alcaraz and it was a clinical Medvedev show, prevailing comfortably in straight sets. With a strong week and a half on grass, the world number two will look to notch up confidence seeking wins under his belt against the likes of Cilic and be a force to reckon with here in the second week.

Can Cilic Roll Back Time At Wimbledon?
2017 Wimbledon runner-up Marin Cilic was once a regular feature in the top ten of the ATP rankings and ranked as high as number three in the world. The last two seasons have seen injuries, poor form, early losses and the sort resulting in a word ranking just within the top 40 or thereabouts in the world.
However, the Croat has had a good run on grass this swing with a 9-1 win-loss record that includes a title at Stuttgart defeating Felix Auger- Aliassime in the final and a quarter-final run at Queens’ club before falling to Aussie Alex de Minaur.
Cilic has been pushed in his first two rounds here by Salvatore Caruso of Italy and Benjamin Bonzi of France respectively, but come out strong on both occasions to win in three and four sets respectively.
The challenge definitely gets steeper here on but the Croat will hope his serve and powerful game come to the rescue in a tough third round encounter against the world number two.
Medvedev v Cilic Prediction and Tip
Although Cilic is not the player he was, he can never be underestimated on the grass courts of Wimbledon. Expect him to push Medvedev, but the Russian has played some good matches on the surface, including a title win at Mallorca last week.
A well fought contest on the cards, with Medvedev prevailing in four sets.
