Barty Blows away Blinkova
After a slightly difficult opening round encounter against Carla Suarez Navvaro, Barty got back to her clinical ways in the second round as she got past Anna Blinkova in straight sets.
Barty defeated Blinkova 6-4, 6-3 in an hour and 32 minutes, overcoming a slow start in the opening set to claim the third round spot.
Having never made it beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon, Barty was down a break in the first set but reclaimed it the very next game. And then as she took the lead by breaking Blinkova in the seventh game, the Aussie was broken back in the very next game.
The Aussie found a way to get past her opponent’s serve though in the ninth game and served it out to go one up.
Barty took a 2-0 lead in the second set but when she was broken back and as Blinkova went 3-2 up it looked like we were in a contest. The world number one had other ideas as she raced away from there onward, breaking her two more times and wrapped it up soon after.
She now has a chance to emulate her previous best at Wimbledon, taking on the world number 64.

Siniakova 6-1 on Grass This Year
Siniakova is coming off a solid showing at the bad Homburg Open from earlier this month where she reached the final at the expense of the likes of Jessica Pegula and Sara Sorribes Tormo.
And she looks to have continued with her good form at Wimbledon as well with wins over Wang Yafan and Coco Vandeweghe in her first couple of rounds.
While Yafan was sent packing 6-1, 6-0, Siniakova was stretched to three sets as she lost the first and came back to win the next two against Vandeweghe.
Siniakova won 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, recovering from her slow start which saw her lose her serve in the fifth game and miss a couple of break-points of her own in the rest of the set.
The rhythm returned in the remaining sets, with Siniakova breaking her opponent twice in each of the next two sets to make it through to the third round for the third time in her career. Can she make it one further?
Barty v Siniakova Prediction and Tip
Trust Barty to come through in straight sets in this one but there are concerns about Barty’s rhythm in recent times because of her fitness concerns. Even in a straight-set win, Barty could be tested here.
