Matteo Berrettini v Hubert Hurkacz Head to Head
The players have met once, on the hard courts of the Miami Open in 2019 which Hurkacz won in straight sets.

Berrettini Comes Through Tight Quarter-Final
Matteo Berrettini came to the grass swing confident at the back of strong runs Down Under early in the season, and more recently on the clay courts at Belgrade, Madrid and Roland Garros.
The Italian had a good run on the grass in 2019 winning a title in Stuttgart and lived up to his top seed billing at Queens’ Club winning the title heading into Wimbledon earlier in June.
High on confidence and earmarked as one of the favorites after Novak Djokovic, Berrettini was up against 2019 Wimbledon quarter-finalist Guido Pella.
It was a tight match initially with Berrettini adjusting to the SW19 grass and Pella playing with confidence, as the players split the first two sets before the Italian then increase in confidence and aggression to close the match in four sets.
It was smooth sailing since for the Italian with three powerful performances against Botic Van de Zandschulp, Aljaz Bedene and Ilya Ivashka and making the quarter-finals of Wimbledon following the final eight at Roland Garros, looking primed for a deep run.
Playing friend Felix Auger- Aliassime in the quarters, Berrettini was off to a good start winning the first set 6-3 and just as he looked like getting the upper hand in the second set, the Canadian hung in and broke to close the set 7-5.
A tight third set followed with both players looking for the upper hand, before the big serving Berrettini put pressure on Auger-Aliassime for a 7-5 win. Berrettini got off to a flyer in the third breaking early and there was no looking back as he closed the match in four sets and earned a second slam semi-final for himself after the 2019 US Open.

Hurkacz Wins Biggest Match Of Career
World No. 18 Hubart Hurkacz advanced to the fourth round of a major for the first time defeating Lorenzo Musetti, Marcus Giron and Alexander Bublik en route, serving well and not dropping a set.
He was up against world number two Daniil Medvedev, who looked in good touch and was leading two sets to one on court number two, when the rain delayed the match, only to be continued the next day on Center Court.
A mix of Hurkacz brilliance and Medvedev errors opened proceedings and within an hour the Pole closed the match in five sets and earned a quarter-final spot on Center Court against Roger Federer.
The 14th seed showed early signs of nerves against Federer on the hallowed Center Court but hung in with the 20-time champion in the early stages as Federer wavered a little on serve as the Pole broke for 4-2 in the first and closed the set 6-3.
Federer broke early in the second to lead 2-0 and when he saved three break points for a 3-0 lead, it looked like the set was going to be his. However, a poor service game at 4-2 in the second by the Swiss saw Hurkacz break back and the set head towards a tiebreak.
It was a poor tiebreak by the Swiss with uncharacteristic errors on the forehand and at the net as he lost the breaker 4-7 and was down two sets to love.
A disastrous set followed for Federer as his body language dropped and there was no coming back from there and losing a set on Center Court at Wimbledon 0-6 for the first time in his career.
Hurkacz registered the biggest win of his career and a spot in the Wimbledon final four and Federer left Wimbledon with lots of questions for himself to answer.
Berrettini v Hurkacz Prediction and Tip
First time Wimbledon semi-finalists Berrettini and Hurkacz have been in excellent touch and come in to the final four confident and hungry for more.
It will be a clash of big games and will come down to who is better on the day when it matters. Berrettini has had the better year and season and can be expected to prevail in a tight four setter.
