Radu Albot v Holger Rune Head to Head

After back to back first round losses at the start of the season, Albot looked to have recovered well at Australian Open where he reached the third round. And while he lost to Casper Ruud, he followed that up with a semifinal appearance at Singapore Open – his best showing since March 2019.
Since then, however, Albot’s form has gone for a toss.
In the nine tournaments that Albot has played in, including three on clay, the Moldovan hasn’t made it past the first round in any. Two of them have resulted in qualifying defeats as well.
On of those qualifying defeats came at Madrid Masters and with Albot’s career record on clay (22-31) anyway not showing anything to suggests he can turn things around, this could be Rune’s match to lose.

Rune 211th But Improving
Rune shot to fame after he made it to the quarterfinal at Santiago Open earlier this year having only featured in Futures events little over a month before that.
Since then, Rune has lost in first round of a couple of ATP events but he has excellent on the Challenger circuit.
He has made it to the final of two Challenger events, winning one of them and making it through to the semifinal at a third. All three of these tournaments came on clay.
What that’s done is to propel Rune to his career-best ranking of 211th in the world, but more vitally after having begun the season at 477th. That’s one of the best changes on the ATP Rankings charts in this short a time-frame in recent times.
And with his opponent gasping for form, Rune will look at himself as having the form required to get past the Moldovan and with ease.
Albot v Rune Prediction and Tip
A straight-set win looks to be on the cards for Rune despite the Danish player having not won one in main draw since March. His own form on the Challenger circuit and his opponent’s struggles should ensure that.
