Facundo Bagnis v Roberto Carballes Baena Head to Head
The pair have never met before. This will be the first match between the 31 year old Argentine, and the Spaniard, who is three years younger.

Bagnis Starts Runner-Up in Chile
In March, Bagnis reached his first final of his senior professional career, finishing runner-up to Christian Garin of Chile in Santiago.
He though did win the doubles event at the Stuttgart Open in 2013 when it was a clay court event, and has appeared in 31 finals on the junior tours, winning 18 of them.
All of those finals have been on clay.
Since that performance in Chile, Bagnis has reached the final of a Challenger event in Portugal, where he was beating by the rising Spanish teenager Carlos Alvarez, and the semi-final of another event in Lyon.
And, before he takes his place in court against Carballes-Baena, he has a final to contest in Salzburg against compatriot Federico Coria.

Carballes-Baena Back on Favourite Surface
Like Bagnis, Carballes Baena’s favourite surface is clay.
One of the differences between the pair, however, is that the Spaniard does have one senior ATP title to his name, the Ecuador Open which he won in 2018. And, two years later, he won the Chile Open doubles title, with compatriot, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
And his record of finals success in junior tours is a match for Bagnis, with again all his success coming in clay court events.
2021 though has not been his best year on tour of his career so far. Whilst Bagnis was appearing in the final in Santiago, Carballes Baena was defeated in the third round, but that remains his best performance on the senior tour so far.
He though did win a Challenger event in Belgrade, but was beaten in the first round of the French Open and Wimbledon.
Like Bagnis, he has just competed in Salzburg as well, but his interest ended at the second round stage, beaten by Blaz Rola of Slovenia, the world number 159.
Bagnis v Carballes Baena Prediction and Tip
This is a contest between two clay court specialists, who are evenly matched on paper. Bagnis will begin as the favourite because he is higher ranked, and is in slightly better recent form.
