Krejcikova Continues to Sparkle

Be it clay on which she won French Open earlier this year or hard court where Krejcikova has continued to excel and has a WTA Dubai final under her belt, Krejcikova has managed to carve out some brilliant results for her own self.

And refusing to stop, the Czech and world number 13 managed her second successive straight-set win to seal her quarterfinal berth.

Krejcikova won 7-6 (2), 6-4 against Yslaine Bonaventure in her second round match, needing an hour and 39 minutes to win a match that had a whopping nine breaks of serve.

An exchange of four breaks of serves took her to 4-4 in the opening set, before the world number 13 rammed past her opponent in the tie-breaker. The second set was a lot easier, as an early couple of breaks of serve were followed and while she muffed up three match-points on her opponent’s serve, the win came on her own service as she converted the fourth one she got.

Can she now go the distance?

Siniakova Makes it Eight Wins in 10

It’s not been too bad a season for Siniajova either, who, over the last three tournaments has won eight of the 10 matches has played.

On hard court surfaces though, Siniakova hasn’t quite dished out her best, winning just three of her eight matches in the opens sun. More recently, in the second round, Siniakova needed to win her encounter in three sets to make it to the last eight.

Siniakova needed two hours and 20 minutes to overcome the loss of first set before winning the next two. In fact Smitkova had a realistic chance to edging out her opponent as she went a break up in the second set after winning the first.

It was the sheer helplessness of what next to do because of her lack of experience allowed Siniakova to come back, take the match into a tie-breaker and complete the equaliser. As compared to that, the third set was a breeze as Siniakova came back from a break down to complete the victory.

Can she now give Krejcikova a run for her money?

Krejcikova v Siniakova Prediction and Tip

On hard courts, this might be somewhat closer of a contest as Krejcikova starts a favourite but not that big a one. Backing her to win this one.
