Casper Ruud v Roberto Carballés Baena Head to Head
There have been two previous matches on the ATP tour and two others on the Challenger circuit and Ruud leads 3-1. All of those matches came on clay.

Ruud Gets Laaksonen Walkover
Following a first round bye and after having sent Holger Rune packing in the second round of the tournament rather easily, Ruud did not even have to take to court for his quarterfinal. This was after Henri Laaksonen withdrew from their tie because of fitness trouble.
What this means is Ruud has been on court for just over an hour all week to make it to the semifinal.
And for someone who loves his time on clay, this can only mean one thing going into his fourth semifinal of the season – he would be fresh and raring to go to make it to his second final of the season.
All of his ATP semifinals for the year have come on clay and the last time he played on this surface in a non-Grand Slam competition, Ruud went on to win the title.
Can he make it two in two?

Carballés Baena Makes First Semifinal Since February 2018
He is the winner of one ATP title and that was also the last time he made it to the semifinal stage of a competition at this level. Carballes Baena has finally broke through and reached that stage of a tournament yet again, defeating Norbert Gombos in the last eight.
The Spaniard, who has never been better than 72nd in the world, was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Gombos in a match that lasted an hour and 38 minutes. This win followed a three-set shock of Fabio Fognini in the second round.
In a match that went to serve in the first seven games, Carballes Baena looked to have taken control when he broke Gombos in the eighth game. He stumbled while serving for the set, missing three set-points but then broke right back to clinch the opener.
The second was a lot easier for him as the Spaniard ran away to a 5-0 lead and while he missed three match-points over the next two games, Carballes Baena sealed his semifinal spot in the eighth game.
Ruud v Carballés Baena Prediction and Tip
While Carballes Baena has done well so far to get to this stage, there is no stopping Ruud here and he should come through in straight sets.
