Irina Bara v Kristina Kucova Head to Head
This is the first meeting between the two players on the tour.

Bara Battles Past Di Sarra in the Opener
Irina Bara found herself in a marathon match against the #287 ranked Italian Federica Di Sarra in the first round on Monday. The 26-year-old needed upwards of two and a half hours to defeat Di Sarra with 6-3, 1-6, 7-5.
For the second time in two weeks, the Romanian will play in the second round of a WTA tournament. Last week, she featured in the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest where she lost to Olga Danilovic after winning the opener. This time around, she will look to go beyond.
While her overall season hasn’t been particularly impressive (her current ranking of World No. 116 says it all), there are a few notable highlights – all of which are on the clay courts.
Bara was the runner-up in the ITF Bonita Springs and followed it with a first-round appearance in the French Open as a qualifier. Additionally, the number 10 seed was a semifinalist the Bol Challenger, bowing out to Arantxa Rus in straight sets.

Kucova Overcomes Radwanska with Ease
Kristina Kucova faced little to no resistance in her first-round bout against the local favourite Urszula Radwanska. In what was one of her most clinical performances of the season, the Slovak won the match 6-2, 6-1.
In her preceding tournament of the Hamburg European Open, Kucova had a pretty decent run considering that she started as a qualifier. She won three matches before succumbing to Danielle Collins in the second round.
Kucova had an exactly similar run in the Monterrey Open too – back then she lost to Leylah Fernandez. That performance, combined with her second-round feat in the Miami Open, is among the positives of her 2021 spell. Needless to mention, consistency has never been among the strong suits for the 31-year-old.
Bara v Kucova Prediction and Tip
Bara may be tested once again – this time by Kucova but the end result should remain the same. Expect the Romanian to reach the quarterfinal in three sets.
