Hubert Hurkacz v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two including one on the Challenger circuit and rather interestingly Fucsovics has won both of them. One of them came at the 2018 Cincinnati Open and went into a final set tie-breaker.

While Hurkacz would have loved to do a lot better as far as his consistency is concerned than what the 20-12 win-loss record for this season suggests, he wouldn’t mind the positives that have come with it in 2021.
The Polish player has already won two titles this season, both of which came in hard court tournaments, and he topped that up with a semifinal at Wimbledon just a couple of weeks ago.
In fact one of those titles wins came at Miami Masters, which was Hurkacz’s first ever title in the ATP Masters 1000 series of competitions. And it came at the expense of Denis Shapovalov, Milos Raonic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev and Jannik Sinner.
Hurkacz is now back on a surface which has given him a lot of successive over these last couple of seasons, and he will want to add to that here at Olympics.

Fucsovics Himself Showing Solid Form
If Hurkacz, coming into these Olympics in full glory because of his form, thought he would have it easy to start things off, he was mistaken. Going up against him in this opener will be Fucosvics who is himself coming off a quarterfinal at Wimbledon where he lost to Novak Djokovic.
And it’s not just his performance at Wimbledon that had the fans talking.
Fucsovics has had a 9-4 win-loss record on hard court surfaces and 6-1 indoors this year. He made it to the final at Rotterdam and quarterfinal at ATP Dubai with his only struggles coming on clay.
The Hungarian player, who has a winning percentage of 54 on hard court surfaces, will back himself to carve out a slice off Hurkacz in this one.
After all, Fucosvics is known to be a fighter, having come back from four successive losses to Andrey Rublev this year to beat him at Wimbledon.
Hurkacz v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip
This could well be one of the matches to watch out for in round one and one that goes into a third set.
