Casper Ruud v Hugo Gaston Head to Head
There has been only one previous meeting between these two players before this but it came in the qualifiers of the 2019 Paris Masters. Ruud had won that in three sets.

Ruud Continues Clay Court Dominance
He might not have reached the levels of Dominic Thiem or some of the other solid clay court players other than the Big Three but Ruud is surely inching his way up towards that.
Having opened his career title tally last season in Buenos Aires, Ruud doubled that count in Geneva earlier this year in May. And he made it third title on red dirt last week when the Norwegian cruised through to the win over Federico Coria in the final of Bastad Open.
This week has been no different. Other than getting stretched to three sets by Benoit Paire, Ruud is now one match away from clinching his fourth. And he got there with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Vit Korpiva, a 249th-ranked Czech.
Next up for Ruud is another player ranked outside the top 150 and as title-deciders go, one of the easier ones for a player in that kind of form that the world number 14 is in.

Gaston in Maiden ATP Final
Before coming into this tournament, Gaston had won just five matches in his career. Three of these had come at last year’s French Open and two this season.
All of a sudden, here is Gaston having romped into the final and as a 155th-ranked player, that’s been quite an achievement. Even more given the manner in which he has come through.
Things haven’t been easy for Gaston all week. Other than his opening round match against Juan Manuel Cerundolo in which he dropped just six games, Gaston has been pushed in each of the next three matches.
Against Federico Delbonis there was a third set tie-breaker. Cristian Garin, who was 1/4 to win their quarterfinal also took him to a tie-breaker in the third which went to 13-11 in favour of Gaston.
And Gaston then made it to the final by shocking Laslo Djere in another three-setter.
Can Gaston continue with this stunning run and lift his first ever ATP title? At the moment, Ruud’s level of play seems to be slightly higher than the rest.
Ruud v Gaston Prediction and Tip
While Ruud is our pick to win this, odds of 1/7 look to be quite short given the kind of fight Gaston has shown he can put up. We believe Gaston can push him in at least one of the sets if not win one.
Tip: Ruud to win AND Over 19.5 games in the match: 13/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
