Seyboth Wild Searching for Form
2020 Chile Open champion Thiago Seyboth Wild has struggled on the tout this season. The 21-year-old comes to Kitzbuhel with a 1-5 record on the tour.
The World No. 118 got his only win of the season against Spain’s Nicola Kuhn in the first round in Hamburg earlier this month. He lost to Laslo Djere in the second round of the German Open and the Serb defeated Seyboth Wild yet again in Gstaad last week.
A solid clay court player, Seyboth Wild has three Futures and one Challenger title to his name and all four have come on clay courts.
Last year, he entered Chile Open with just one ATP level win under his belt, and yet went all the way to the title, defeating players ranked much higher than him, which included Casper Ruud in the final.
Seyboth Wild has struggled for most of this season, but a couple of wins here could do his confidence a world of good.

Taberner Coming off Two Good Tournaments
Spain’s Carlos Taberner enters the main draw as a lucky loser. The World No. 108 defeated Evgeny Karlovskiy 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in the first qualifying round but lost to Latvia’s Ernests Gulbis 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 in the second qualifying round on Sunday. He, however got lucky after a withdrawal saw him get a place in the main draw.
The 23-year-old is coming off two decent tournaments at the German Open and the Croatian Open. Having qualified for the main draw in Hamburg, Taberner went on to beat Spaniash veteran Feliciano Lopez in the fist round before going down in the Round of 16.
He got through the first round in Croatia as well, beating Nino Serdarusic in the first round but fell to Stefano Travglia in the next round.
A clay court specialist, Taberner has played in 15 Futures and Challenger finals, all on clay, winning six of them. Two of those Challenger wins came this year in Antalya and Aix en-Provence, France.
