Alexander Zverev v Nikoloz Basilashvili Head to Head
There have been three main draw matches and one other meeting in the qualifiers of another tournament and Zverev leads 3-1 overall. On outdoor hard courts it’s 2-1 in favour of Zverev while Basilashvili’s only win against the German came on clay.

Zverev Continues to Make Merry
Blessed with a rather straightforward draw so far, Zverev has made it count by routing both his first two round opponents. Not only did he win his matches in straight sets but also used up just two hours and 12 minutes in total on court.
After an easy win over Yen-hsun Li, Zverev registered a 6-2, 6-2 win over Daniel Elahi Galan in the second to ease into the round of 16.
Zverev, who has already won two titles this season and was a quarterfinalist on the hard courts of Australian Open, broke his opponent twice in each of the two sets. In return, the world number five did not face a single break-point making it one of the most one-sided encounters of the round.
Things will start to get tighter for Zverev now as opponents become tougher but given his recent form and performances on hard court, he shouldn’t have too much trouble against Basilashvili.

Basilashvili Overturns the Odds against Sonego
After a straight-set win over Roberto Carballes Baena, Basilashvili was stretched to three sets by Lorenzo Sonego in the second round but came through in the end.
Basilashvili was on court for a whopping two hours and 43 minutes before coming through 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 to make it to round three of the tournament.
Having himself won two ATP titles this season despite otherwise struggling to get going, Basilashvili edged out his opponent by accumulating one extra break of serve – five to four – despite his poor first serve percentage of 49% and more unforced errors than his opponent.
Here’s the deal though, Basilashvili has won five matches in his career against top-10 players including once against Zverev himself and against Roger Federer earlier this season. He will hope to use that confidence coming into this one against his German opponent.
Zverev v Basilashvili Prediction and Tip
While Zverev is the favourite, are odds of 1/10 long enough? We don’t think so, and we believe there could be bit of a battle here. Games handicap looks to be a good option.
