Marketa Vondrousova v Paula Badosa Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before, in the fourth round of the French Open last month, Badosa winning in three sets.

Vondrousova Breaks Japanese Hearts
Vondrousova had already caused one small surprise by beating Kiki Berens of the Netherlands in the first round.
A routine win over the Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu then followed, but few would have been prepared for what happened on Tuesday as the Czech dumped Naomi Osaka, the number two seed and “Face of the Games”, the woman who had the honour of lighting the Olympic cauldron last Friday, out of the Olympics.
In truth the Japanese woman can have few complaints as the defeat was almost entirely of her own making as the unforced errors piled up.
She lost the first four games of the match, and, although she did eventually win a game, Vondrousova cruised through the first set.
Osaka broke her at the start of the second set and, briefly, it looked like she might mount a comeback. But the scores were soon level again and Osaka found herself saving to stay in the match.
Vondrousova earned two match points which Osaka bravely saved. But on the third, slapped her backhand long, breaking millions of Japanese hearts in the process.

Badosa Edging Towards a Medal
Badosa must now be considering her chance of coming away from Tokyo with a medal as a distinct possibility, although she is in the same half of the draw as Elina Svitolina, the highest ranked player still in the tournament.
However, she has played her part in the clear-out of seeds by ending the challenge of Iga Świątek of Poland in the second round, having overcome the French doubles specialist Kristina Mladenovic in the first.
That earned her a third round match with Nadia Podoroska of Argentina, who reached the semi-finals of the French Open last year, but is much more at home on clay.
From the start the Podoroska serve was under pressure and, although she saved break points in her opening two service games, she eventually crumbled and lost her serve and then once more as the Spaniard wrapped-up the first set.
Badosa raced through the second set, taking the first five games, but stumbled within sight of the finish line, squandering four match points.
Podoroska staged a mini fightback but then Badosa earned another match point, and this time she took it.
Vondrousova v Badosa Prediction and Tip
Badosa will start the favourite based on world ranking and her recent victory over the Czech woman. But at this stage of the competition, both women will think they are in with a chance of earning a medal.
